November Birchbox

So my day was going pretty average until…

I heard the mailman come with my Birchbox! I actually was parking my car when I saw him at my house and I was just like, “Excuse mee, I’ll just take that package right there you can keep the rest.” Kidding, but I did take it out of his hands.

I know when that Birchbox bling, that can only mean one thing
This month’s Birchbox theme is about indulging for yourself before the crazy holidays come which I think we all need, especially those of us who work in retail. Working retail during the holidays is a serious nightmare. People aren’t cheery and jolly at all, in fact, people are straight up evil during the holidays sometimes. Don’t get me started.

Back to what this post is about, yes I need some me time before the craziness happens so I’m glad this Birchbox came right in time!

Here’s what I got:

Amika Nourishing Mask | Full size $2

This hair mask smells so good! I can’t wait to use it, I’ve never been a high maintenance hair person, but after dying my hair I think my hair could use a nourishing mask to help condition it.

Cartier Baiser Vole Eau de Parfum | Full size $75-$106

This unfortunately smells like baby powder infused with some roses. It actually is supposed to be lilies, but also I smell is baby powder and rose. I am NOT a fan of this smell. Once again, it has a grandmaesque scent to it, Birchbox usually sends grandma-ish smelling scents and I don’t know why!

MAKE Skin Illuminator | Full size $34

This is part skin perfecting base and part skin illuminator and it has a pearlescent “glimmer,” I say glitter cause it is very glittery. This is supposed to be subtle, but I guess for swatch purposes I went a little overboard with it

I don’t think this illuminator is very subtle and I don’t really like glittery highlighters on my cheekbones. I would actually use it as a highlight for my brow bone, which is what I intend to do. I definitely don’t think this highlighter is worth $34.

Temple Spa La La Lagoon Aromatic Bath & Shower Gel | Full size $18

This smells like a minty herbal cold drink, definitely smells like how a spa would smell. I’ve actually seen this brand in a hotel bathroom before (don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing) but I don’t think I will be purchasing a full size of this or even using this product. I don’t like the smell and I’m just not really impressed.

Zoey Van Jones Tinted Brow Gel | Full size $24

I was most excited for this product since this is my first brow product I’ve ever owned! For those of you who read my confessions post, you know what I’m talking about!

On the left are my brows without the brow gel, and on the right are my brows with. I may have gone a little overboard with it, but it was so much fun putting it on my brows! I definitely think the product does it’s job and it’s still natural looking and it allows me to shape my brows how I want! I just need to use a lighter hand haha.

That’s all I got this month! What did you guys get? I noticed some people got LOC eyeshadow sticks and I’m hoping I get to try one next month!

Thanks for reading! Be sure to follow and like if you enjoyed!

I think you should at least try it once. Birchbox gives me more higher end skin care and lotions than they do makeup and that’s probably cause I don’t log into my account regularly and pick my items. I don’t think I will be renewing my subscription based off what I’ve received. But if you plan to log into your account and pick your freebie and other items (I’ve seen people get free beauty blenders) I think it could be worth it to at least try!
