October Birchbox ♥

Well it’s that time of the month!

No, not that time of the month! It’s time for another Birchbox! This month’s Birchbox theme was breast cancer awareness and inspiring confidence through beauty, and I must say that this box was probably my favorite I’ve ever received because it had products that I use on a daily basis! Here’s what’s inside my box:

1. Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara

At first glance, I was like, “is this the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara?” Cause the brush seriously looks identical to it. When I first pulled it out of the tube, it was a clumpy hot mess on the brush! There was product all up in those bristles so I put it back in tube and pulled it out again and that helped wipe the excess product off. Upon applying my first coat, I immediately noticed how thick this made my lashes look. They also looked a little messy but I usually fix that with a lash comb. This mascara is also very wet so I knew I had to let it dry before I applied a second coat

After applying a second coat, I had a feeling I would get more clumps if I applied any more product so I decided to stop. I definitely like the volume this mascara gives, however I don’t think it did much in the lengthening department for me and it didn’t really hold my curl. I think I will let this one sit and dry out a little before trying it again.

2. R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo

First off, I love the packaging. I think the graphic is really cool. This dry shampoo has an ok scent, it was kind of like a light-musky scent. Like, a grandma smell but not too grandma-ish, maybe a grandma in her young 60s is how I would describe it. This product says it will get rid of excess oil while adding volume and body, and it did get rid of oil but I didn’t notice too much volume. If anything, I probably sprayed too much in my hair and it gave me the consistency of a texturizing spray. There’s no white residue which is always good, but I don’t think this dry shampoo is worth the full price of $29.

3. BioRepublic Pomegranate Crush Illuminating Fiber Mask

This smelled soooooooooo goooood, I wanted to eat it. This mask says it will make your skin brighter, smoother, and all-around happy and I have to say, it definitely made me feel that way. It was extremely refreshing and cool on my face and made my skin feel hydrated. When I took it off, my skin was glowing and I felt like it was rejuvenated.

Happy Halloween!

4. Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

This product says it’s a mini micro-dermabrasion that helps lessen the appearance of acne scars and fine lines. After the first use, I could definitely tell how smooth my skin was and it even looked brighter in appearance. When you are washing your face you can feel the scrubbing beads take away dirt from your skin, but since it is a little abrasive, I wouldn’t use this everyday. I can see and feel how squeaky clean my skin is, and I’m sure with time I will notice some of my hyper-pigmentation/ pimples go away. My skin was glowing after this and whenever my skin isn’t looking too perky, I will use this exfoliator to bring life back into my skin. I love this product and I will definitely be purchasing a full size once my sample runs out (which will probably be awhile cause the sample was a good size!)

5. Jane Iredale Hand Drink

So this didn’t smell that great, but it didn’t leave my hands greasy or oily. They felt smooth and silky after application, but I feel like most lotions or hand creams make your hands feel that way. I’ve never been one to splurge or experiment with hand creams, but I couldn’t really handle the scent (another grandma smell)

Can’t wait to see what comes in next month’s box, what did you guys get this month?

Thanks for reading!
♥ Melissa
